USI’s approach to successful utility coordination is the same as Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People… Be Proactive. Begin with the end in mind. Think win-win, and so on. We believe that respecting utility owners as partners in any project, regardless of size, enables us to work with them to avoid, minimize, and, if necessary, mitigate conflicts with existing facilities. Our team has developed relationships with many of the utility representatives around the state by recognizing their stake in each project, giving them a voice that is heard, and working with them to develop solutions to keep projects on time and on budget. These relationships have been the key to success and mitigating unforeseen conflicts during construction.
